Blaire and Matt’s wedding day will always stick out in my mind because of how emotional and special the entire day was. From the very beginning when I first arrived, the girls were all hustling in the hotel room helping Blaire get ready; All of her best friends from grade school, on up to college roommates. I took her details to the adjoining room, and noticed Blaire had brought her metal pendant that she had found in her late mothers makeup drawer the day we had photographed their engagement session, over the summer. It was hard not getting emotional! She found the angel pendant, and on the back of it was engraved with the word, “Bride”. I know Blaire’s momma was with her the entire day, that day. First looks with Daddy’s always get me too! Blaire and her fathers first look was a special one. Seeing his baby girl all grown up and the thought of him giving her away made him pretty teary eyed. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. Blaire and Matt were married in Kansas City in a beautiful church surrounded by all of their loved ones, and afterward headed to one of my favorite venues in Missouri, Weston Red Barn Farm. We arrived just in time to catch some beautiful sunset light in their portraits. Their day was a dream come true. It felt like the whole town of Richmond was there to celebrate with these two beautiful folks. One of my favorite moments from their wedding was from Matt’s speech and their reception. Matt told a story about how he never had the chance to meet Kim, Blaire’s mom who passed away just a month after Blaire and Matt started dating. He went on to say how everyone always said how they feel bad for him that he never got to meet her, and how wonderful of a woman she was. Then Matt said, “Don’t ever feel bad for me, because I get to see Kim everyday, through Blaire. I see how wonderful of a woman she was in my new wife!” Cue the tears, AGAIN!  It was such a great day.
