Dana and Phill have such a beautiful love story, and I wanted to share with you exactly what they shared with me!! XO
It all began many years ago, when we were both bright-eyed five-
year-olds in first grade. Little did we know that this would be the start of an incredible adventure. Throughout our early years, we attended the same elementary school, navigated the ups and downs of middle school, and laughed through the high school days together.
In our journey together, we’ve celebrated countless milestones and
cherished moments. From 8th-grade formal where we shared our
first dance, to senior year homecoming and prom, these events
marked the beginning of a beautiful story.
Our friendship grew stronger with each passing year; movie nights,
hikes on Sugarloaf, kicking around a soccer ball; we found ourselves
sharing a history and a group of wonderful friends who feel like
family. Finally, in our senior year, Phill asked me to be his girlfriend,
and all has made sense in the world since!
After high school, we embarked on our college journeys, and it was
during our sophomore year in college that our lives took another
joyful turn. Together, we rescued the most adorable furry bundle of
joy – our sweet dog, and little protector, Bailey. Bailey has filled our
days with love, laughter, and endless cuddles. Since then, a couple
more trips to the humane society were made and Phill’s house has 3
more amazing dogs in the mix. Since graduating, we have continued
to work at Bretton Woods Recreation Center, as we have since 2015,
and then we bought our first home! There we navigated the ups &
downs of homeownership but stuck to our relatively simple routines
of watching movies every night, hanging with friends any chance we
could get, walks with Bails, and evening rec soccer games.
After many seasons of life shared together, Phill proposed on
November 26th, 2022 – our 8-year anniversary. He planned a
romantic evening for us at the Cosmos Club, a nearby city club in
Washington, DC. Here he would give me a tour around the beautiful
building, leading me to the gardens, where Wake Me Up by Ed
Sheeran was playing, the same song he asked me to prom to back in
high school, and popped the question! Little did I know, Tori Huster,
our soon-to-be officiant and forever bonus sister, was hiding in the
trees snapping pictures. We popped open a bottle of 2014
champagne, and enjoyed an exquisite meal in an intimate wine room,
thanks to a few of Phill’s amazing friends in the Club Industry.
Our love story has been filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep
understanding of one another. From playground pals to inseparable
best friends, we’ve spent our lives together in one way or another,
shaping each other’s worlds in beautiful ways. Surrounded by the
love of our cherished friends and family, we can’t wait to take the
next step in supporting each other through all the days to come.
